China Telecom Will Be Offering iPhone This Year

According to Reuters report, China Telecom will be offering the iPhone this year. So far, only China Unicom has the ability to sell the iPhone. But now, China Telecom will revealed an iPhone model on their CDMA network this November.

The report stated that the carrier will be launching Apple iPhone 5. Speaking of the iPhone 5, it would be thinner and lighter than its ancestor. Aside from China Telecom, Chine Mobile will also introducing the fifth generation of iPhone in September.

Samsung Galaxy S Reaching China in 3 Variants

In partnership with three major mobile operators of China, Samsung is bringing its Galaxy S in 3 variants that supports different network standard. The China Telecom will offer the a CDMA2000 device (Model Name: SCH-I909), the China Mobile will offer a TD-SCDMA model (GT-I9008) and the China Unicom will use the WCDMA version (GT-I9088). China Telecom will first launch the Galaxy S this month, while the other 2 operators will start offering the phone by end of this year.

Huawei to Build China’s First 40G Transmission Network for China Telecom

Huawei has been selected by China Telecom to build China’s first 40G WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) transmission network between Shanghai and Wuxi. Under the terms of the contract, Huawei will provide China Telecom with an ultra-high-capacity 80 wavelengths x 40G transmission solution capable of 10G/40G hybrid transmission to address China Telecom’s ever-increasing Internet bandwidth requirements and to lay a foundation for providing high-bandwidth services.

“It is an honor to work with China Telecom in building China’s first 40G WDM transmission network,” said Christian Chua, president of Huawei’s Transport Network Product Line. “The proliferation of Internet services has put an ever-increasing demand on bandwidth. To jointly promote the commercial application of 40G technologies, Huawei, a leader in 40G transmission networks, will continue to focus on operators’ pressures and challenges .”

Huawei’s patented SuperDRZ technologies supports ultra long-haul transmission of up to 1,500 kilometers without the need for regeneration, which reduces investment costs. 40G transmission solution also adopts Huawei’ s unique C-band extension technology, which increases the fiber transmission bandwidth by an extra 20%, and enables the DWDM system to boast a transmission capacity of 3.84T.
