Available from China Mobile, HTC and Dopod is delivering their first TD-SCDMA (China's 3G service) compatible smartphone called Dopod T8388 Qilin this month with the new Windows Mobile 6.5 OS. Other than 5 megapixel camera, WVGA touch screen, WiFi and GPS, the T8388 has a built in TV antenna so that it could receive the China Mobile's digital TV service.

Soon to be available in China, LG planned to release its LG GW880 smartphone with China Mobile's OPhone OS. The OPhone OS is based on Android OS, featuring iPhone-like interface and the company's mobile software store called Mobile Market. OPhone SDK is compatible with Android SDK, Android software can be easily used on OPhone platform with the same API.

Confirmed for a release on China Mobile network, a new Samsung B7300 smartphone has been leaked on a chinese forum. The slim smartphone is running Windows Mobile 6.1. British mobile phone group Vodafone said it was joined China Mobile and Softbank to increase the commercial deployment of mobile Internet services, Reuters reported recently. The initiative is intended to promote applications that run across handset platforms and operating systems of different mobile operators.
