The BlackBerry Bold 9700 will be receiving an update with BB OS 6. There is a YouTube video that demonstrate BlackBerry Bold 9700 running with the OS 6. The device seems to be perfectly fine running the new OS.

According to the video, the OS 6 runs faster on the Bold 9700 than the BlackBerry Torch 9800. The main cause of this is probably the complexity of Torch 9800′s touchscreen input. Check out the video below and see it for yourself.

There’s probably something fitting about a white version of the BlackBerry Bold 9700 landing in Canada, but we can’t quite place our finger on it. In any event, it seems that Rogers is ready to launch the device, which should make plenty of BlackBerry users up there (there should be some up there, right?) quite happy.

The best news though, is that it’s available right now from FutureShop and Best Buy, so there’s no need to pre-order or hold your breath. You can pick up the full, physical QWERTY keyboard right now. It also features a 2.4-inch transmissive TFT display, with a resolution of 480×360. You’ll also get WiFi and GPS, a 3.2MP camera on the back. On the inside, you’ll find 256MB of memory, which can be expanded to 32GB thanks to the included MicroSD card slot.

Unfortunately, Roger’s website doesn’t have the Bold 9700 listed (at least, not while we’re writing this), but considering its “on sale” position at retailers, we imagine that should change very soon. You can pick up the Bold in White for $549.99 without a contract, or $149.99 with a three-year signing deal. So, choose your poison. If you pick one up, let us know what you think of it.

Research In Motion must see the BlackBerry Bold 9700 as the most customizable phone in existence, because every time we’ve seen it lately, it keeps getting these strange aesthetic alterations. Not that we’re complaining, especially with skins like this, but eventually it’s got to confuse the masses, right? In any event, a new version is heading to T-Mobile USA soon, and it’s coming in white.

The BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white is a 3G capable handset, and it features WiFi, GPS, MicroSD card support, and that optical trackpad that’s becoming oh so popular nowadays. Other than the white color scheme, there isn’t a thing different about this version of the 9700, but we can’t say that’s a bad thing. Options, even if it is just a color switch, is always good.

As the title suggests, and the huge T-Mobile endorsed picture confirms, the 9700 will hit store shelves on May 5th. You’ll probably be able to just walk in and pick one up come the big day; we don’t expect this to have the same sales as another device on the same network. We can’t help but think that there’s going to be at least a few BlackBerry fans out there that would love the change of pace, from black to white, and might scrape up the money to pick this bad boy up. No official word on pricing, though.
