Bouygues Telecom and RIM Launch the BlackBerry Pearl Flip Smartphone in France

Bouygues Telecom and Research In Motion (RIM) are now bringing the new BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone to France. From End-December, Bouygues Telecom’s customers will be able to buy the BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone, which provides flip phone fans with all the power of a BlackBerry smartphone in a stylish design.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip offers a large, high resolution display, a second LCD colour display on the outside that allows for dynamic viewing of incoming messages and calls, a SureType keyboard that makes typing text and dialling numbers quick and easy and built-in Wi-Fi®. The quad-band EDGE based BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone presents a sophisticated look with a sleek design and a chrome-finished frame surrounding its smooth, luminescent face. Packed with an abundance of powerful features, it weighs only 3.6 ounces and measures approximately 3.9″ x 1.9″ x 0.7″.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone from Bouygues Telecom is available from €129 including taxes (on a 12 month contract) in all Club Bouygues Telecom outlets with a Pro service plan or a Consumer service plan of 3 hours and more.

Rogers Wireless and Research In Motion (RIM) are launching the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone, the first BlackBerry phone to come in flip form factor. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip will be available in black finish from Rogers Wireless starting November 4, with the pink BlackBerry Pearl Flip coming soon.

The new BlackBerry Pearl Flip provides flip phone fans with all the power of a BlackBerry smartphone in a fun and familiar design. You can send a message to your friends or family, make a call, browse the web, snap a picture, watch a video or listen to your favorite song. It features two high-resolution, light-sensing color displays, including an external LCD that makes it easy to preview incoming emails, text messages and phone calls without opening the handset.

RIM announces developer conference details

Research In Motion (RIM) recently announced further details about the BlackBerry Developer Conference, which will take place October 20 – 22, 2008 in Santa Clara, California. The agenda includes an opening keynote address by RIM founder, president and co-CEO Mike Lazaridis, as well as five tracks, over 75 sessions, and the opportunity to hear first-hand about the winners of the BlackBerry Partners Fund Developer Challenge.

“With over 40 million BlackBerry smartphones sold today, the BlackBerry platform provides developers with a proven and growing opportunity to add value in the mobile marketplace through the creation of mobile-savvy applications for businesses and consumers,” Lazaridis said. He will kick off the conference with a keynote address, which will also be available via webcast.

Silver BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 Spotted

Already officially announced on September 10th, the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 (also known as KickStart) is announced in a new silver color in some countries. The press release, in spanish, showing the new silver color. The first clamshell phone from RIM is also in Black and Red color in previous announcement.

Research In Motion today unveiled the BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 smartphone, the first BlackBerry phone to come in the flip form factor. The quad-band EDGE based BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone weighs only 3.6 ounces and measures approximately 3.9″ x 1.9″ x 0.7″. Featuring two high-resolution, light-sensing color displays, the external LCD makes it easy to preview incoming emails, text messages and phone calls without opening the handset, while the large, 240 x 320 internal LCD displays messages, videos and web pages.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip smartphone includes many premium phone features, including Speaker Independent Voice Recognition (SIVR) for Voice Activated Dialing (VAD), support for mp3 ring tones, smart dialing, conference calling, speed dialing, call forwarding, voicemail attachment playback and enhanced background noise cancellation. It also features a speakerphone and Bluetooth 2.0 for use with hands-free headsets, stereo headsets, car kits and other Bluetooth peripherals such as a GPS receiver. The removable/rechargeable 900 mAhr battery provides four hours of talk time and over 14 days of standby time.

The DataViz Documents to Go software suite is preloaded, allowing users to edit Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files directly on the handset. The BlackBerry Pearl Flip is supported on BlackBerry Internet Service, BlackBerry Unite!, BlackBerry Professional Software and BlackBerry Enterprise Server, which provides tight integration with corporate email systems and the security and IT policy controls.

The BlackBerry Pearl Flip works with the new BlackBerry Media Sync application that makes it easy to sync iTunes digital music collections with the smartphone and it also features a conveniently accessible microSD/SDHC memory card slot that supports up to 16GB. No longer a secret, you have already read quite a number of articles of the first BlackBerry clamshell business phone, the BlackBerry Pearl 8220 aka BlackBerry KickStart. According to BlackBerryCool, the Pearl 8220 will go official tomorrow and RIM will make the announcement at the CTIA Wireless event.

The first BlackBerry flip phone, KickStart has already been known as model number 8220. BlackBerryCool has posted another product sheet today and the KickStart is clearly being placed as one of the BlackBerry Pearl series.

According to the source, the new RIM business phone is confirmed to be available on Rogers (Canada) and T-Mobile USA network in September. In July, crackberry has done a review on a prototype unit, as well as a detail hardware walkthough video.
