If Android smartphones are slowly eating up the market share, will Android Apps invade all mobile platforms with this Alien Dalvik? Myriad Group AG today introduced its new Myriad Alien Dalvik, which enable Android apps to run on non-Android phones. The company said most of the Android applications can be used fine without any modification needed.

Myriad plans to start offering the Alien Dalvik this year, which will be launched on Meego platform first. It will also demonstrate the Alien Dalvik at Mobile World Congress using a Nokia N900.

Check out the product video below

Click here to view the embedded video.

[via Android Community]

Alien Dalvik enables the majority of Android applications to run unmodified, allowing application store owners to quickly kick start Android application store services by simply repackaging Android Package (APK) files.

From a user perspective, Alien Dalvik is completely transparent. Alien Dalvik applications appear as native and can be seamlessly installed on device without user disruption. All the user sees is that he now has access to a wider range of applications, thus encouraging a higher frequency of downloads and increased ARPU.

“The proliferation of Android has been staggering, but there is still room for growth. By extending Android to other platforms, we are opening up the market even further, creating new audiences and revenue opportunities,” said Simon Wilkinson, Chief Executive Officer, Myriad Group.

From application components to complete device integration, Myriad provides best-in-class Android solutions. As a founding member of the Open Handset Alliance (OHA), Myriad has been playing a key role in Android solutions since its early days. When partnering with Myriad for Android application development or porting, operators, OEMs and application store owners will benefit from Myriad’s rich heritage in Java technology and unique Android expertise.

Myriad Alien Dalvik will be commercially available later this year on the MeeGo platform. Other platform support will be announced in the coming months. Alien Dalvik will be demonstrated for the first time on the Nokia N900 at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 14th-17th at the Myriad hospitality suite located at The Avenue, Stand AV91.

BlueAnt today released Android applications for its S4 True Handsfree Car Speakerphone and the T1 Rugged Bluetooth Headset on the Android Market. Like BlueAnt’s Q1 Android Application, which launched earlier this year, the new applications allow T1 and S4 users to hear incoming text messages read aloud automatically. The applications also provide help with pairing the devices, support tips, and a direct link to the BlueAnt Customer Service team.

“These applications are just another example of how we offer our users a true handsfree experience and a seamless integration between their BlueAnt device and their smartphone,” said Taisen Maddern, Executive Chairman of BlueAnt Wireless. “The applications also demonstrate that our commitment to supporting our users continues long after they leave the store. As well as adding extra features and enhancements through free applications such as these, we also release regular firmware upgrades to add new features to our devices. These are available for users to download from our website, free of charge, and apply to their BlueAnt device.”

The applications work with any Android handset running Android OS 2.0 or above, and are available as a free download for all S4 and T1 owners.

The software will utilize the company’s Whispersync technology, which saves and synchronizes your bookmarks across your Kindle, Kindle DX, iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, PC, Mac and BlackBerry.

“Kindle for Android is the perfect companion application for Kindle and Kindle DX owners, and is also a great way for customers to enjoy over 540,000 books in the Kindle Store even if they don’t yet have a Kindle,” said Jay Marine, director, Amazon Kindle. “We think customers are going to love the convenience and simplicity of having instant access to a massive selection of books from Amazon on their Droid, Nexus, Incredible and many more Android devices.”
