Finally, T-Mobile G1 users in US are now start getting Android 1.5 Cupcake over the air updates. The new Android 1.5 is bringing few improvements and adding a soft QWERTY keyboard to allow text input via the touch screen. It will also add the ability to upload photo / video directly to Picasa and YouTube from the G1.

Posted on its support forum, T-Mobile has told its T-Mobile G1 users that it will only roll out the Android 1.5 updates in early June. The message seems to be deleted from its forum, so it is still not confirmed if the released has been postponed to the next two weeks.

A few T-Mobile G1 users from Android Community forum has reported to have received the latest cupcake updates from T-Mobile UK. The over-the-air updates is about 44MB in filesize and will updates the Android to version 1.5. There are also many others in UK did not receive the updates notifications yet but should be getting it by end May.

Posted on T-Mobile forums, the administrator of Android forum has confirmed an upcoming firmware updates. The firmware is version 1.1 RC33, it includes several bug fixes and feature enhancements but is not the Cupcake. The updates should be available on February 15th.
