Alltel Mobile E-mail is also compatible with Microsoft Outlook Web Access (OWA), allowing customers to easily sync their work calendars and contacts without IT support or the need to run any software inside the firewall. Small and medium size businesses can deploy and support Alltel Mobile E-mail using Workgroup Connector, powered by SEVEN, a desktop software solution that allows one computer to centrally manages mobile email access for up to 25 employees and provides access to Microsoft Exchange and other POP/IMAP corporate email servers.

Alltel Wireless is offering the LG Rhythm in black or white for $119.99 after $50 mail-in-rebate and a two-year service agreement.

The nuTsie application, developed by Melodeo, is available on a wide range of Alltel devices including the MOTORAZR V3m and V3c, the MOTOKRZR K1m, the MOTORAZR V9m and the MOTOROKR Z6m. Additional handsets include the LG AX565, The Wave by LG, the LG AX8600, Samsung Muse, the Alltel Hue by Samsung and The Wafer by Samsung.

The MOTORAZR VE20 includes a 2MP camera with video, MP3 player with 3.5mm headset jack, GPS capabilities and an expandable memory slot. The phone is preloaded with applications including Alltel Search, City ID, Alltel Navigation, and Aricent Celltop. The phone also is Music Connect capable, providing users with the ability to easily move music from the PCs onto their handset.

MOTORAZR VE20 is being sold at $99.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate.

MyShow delivers end-to-end integration between the mobile device and the Web, allowing customers to browse, create and instantly share all the special moments captured on their phone’s camera. The application automatically composes slideshows that can be personalized with text and background music. Users can upload their slideshows to MyShow’s companion Web site http://myshow.funmo.com as well as embed the MyShow “widget” and broadcast slideshows on popular social networking sites.

Customers can choose from several message packs including plans for $7.99 or $12.99 which provides users 400 or 1,000 additional text/video/picture messages, respectively, to communicate with consumers outside of their “Circle” or that are not Alltel customers. For customers seeking unlimited messaging, Alltel Wireless still offers the $19.99 All Access Pass that includes unlimited messaging and mobile web. “My Circle” message packs can be added to any “My Circle” five, 10 or 20 calling plan.

In addition to the “My Circle” message packs, Alltel is also introducing new “My Circle” Family Choice Plus plans. For $84.99 per month, customers will receive two lines with 1,000 shared minutes and the ability to call any 10 numbers on any network. Also, customers can receive two lines with 2,000 shared minutes and unlimited calling within their “Circle” of 20 numbers for $114.99. In addition to the unlimited calling within their “Circle,” Family Choice plan customers will receive unlimited mobile-to-mobile calls and unlimited nights and weekends. Customers will also have the ability to choose either free evening calls starting at 7PM or 1,000 text/picture/video messages the plans include unlimited texting to their “Circle of Friends” and other Alltel customers.

Download speeds also will increase. Rev. A download speeds average 600 Kbps to 1.4 Mbps, with bursts up to 3.1 Mbps. By comparison, downloads on the existing broadband network average 400-700 Kbps with bursts up to 2.4 Mbps.

In addition to rolling out Rev. A in select markets, Alltel Wireless will continue to expand its existing EVDO network, which now covers 76 percent of its potential customers. By the end of 2008, Alltel expects to cover about 82 percent of its potential customers with EVDO. Nationally, Alltel Wireless has one of the largest EVDO footprints of any U.S. carrier, covering cities such as Cleveland, Charlotte and Tampa, as well as many smaller communities. 

Both versions of Alltel’s Wireless Internet service – EVDO and Rev. A – are available for $59.99 a month and do not require a voice plan in order to qualify. Customers can add unlimited access to 25,000 Wi-Fi hotspots to any Alltel Wireless Internet plan for $9.99.
