Sprint and Walmart Come Together to Bring You Common Cents

Ever felt like you don’t have enough common sense? Well, Sprint wants you to know that with their collaborative efforts with Walmart, you’ll be able to get your Common Cents (Mobile) fix at any time, whenever you’d like. It’s a brand new prepaid wireless program brought on from Sprint, and it’s going to be sold exclusively from Walmart.

So what’s the big deal about Common Cents Mobile? Well, if you’re one of those people out there with a prepaid plan, and you’re not already on the unlimited bandwagon, then this deal will probably work out quite well for you. Featuring 7-cent text messages, and 7-cent per minute voice calls. Additionally, in a stroke of ridiculous good will, Sprint wants people to know that with Common Cents Mobile, minutes are actually rounded down. So, as you can see from the nice little graphic up there, if you make a call that’s one minute and 46 seconds, you’ll only pay for one minute. The other guys will charge you for two.

As far as handsets go, they aren’t breathtaking. The LG101 will run you a cheap $19.77, and the Samsung M340 will only run you $39.77. Refill cards will cost you $20 per refill to start, which will get you 30 days of service if you don’t use it all up. For $30 you get 60 days of service or 848 minutes to talk to people. Or, if you don’t like any of those plans, or that 7-cents per text message, then for an additional $20 per month you can hit up unlimited messaging.

I am in a bit of trouble, I have had my iphone 3G for the past couple of years and it’s been great. It is my understanding that Apple has a new operating system coming out called OS 4 and it’s supposed to be adding some new features to the Apple iPhone. I actually just bought Verizon’s new HTC Incredible the HTC Incredible and it’s an incredible phone, far superior to the iphone, BUT I’m hearing that Apple is supposed to be coming out with a brand new iphone altogether, and it’s supposed to be really nice but no one has any ideas as to when and Apple isn’t saying a thing. Should I keep my HTC Incredible, that I have 30 days to test and return if I do not want to keep it, or should I return it, keep my current iphone and wait for the release of the new iPhone- tough to decide what to do.

I don’t think there is a lot of common sense behind Common Cents. What really caught my attention from the program, though, is the ’rounding down’ of minutes. Really? So Sprint wants to take money away from their customers? Well that might make sense only to Sprint since they have been on the MSN Money ‘Customer Service Hall of Shame’ for 4 years. What I suggest to everyone who wants a great prepaid cell phone plan is Net 10. I have been using them for a very long time now, and they offer great rates, great phones (I, for example, have the Samsung qwerty keyboard phone because I love to text), and great nationwide coverage.
