Sharp to Sell IS01 Android Smartbook with KDDI in Japan
With the HTC Desire going to Softbank Mobile, KDDI is now planning to add Android smartphones to its mobile devices line up. Its first Android device, Sharp IS01, is a smartbook in between of a smartphone and netbook. The IS01 is powered by a 1GHz snapdragon processor and comes with a 5-inch full touch screen, QWERTY keyboard in clamshell design, 960 x 480 display resolution and 3GB internal memory. There is also a microSD card slot for more memory expansion and a track ball for easier navigation. [via k-tai]
With the support of CDMA 1X EV-DO Rev.A, voice call can be made through the built in hands free speaker. You can also use a bluetooth headset instead for better voice quality. The company will start selling the IS01 from June this year.
