Samsung Reality Available April 22nd
It’s about time we heard something from Samsung again. We were beginning to have withdrawal issues. But, at least they’ve come back swinging. They’ve officially announced the Samsung Reality, a full QWERTY slide-out keyboard packing, TouchWiz flaunting messaging phone for the Verizon Wireless network. It’s not available right now, but it will be very soon.
The Samsung Reality is definitely a featurephone, but we’re glad to see the line blurring (at least in the form of features) when it comes to these traditionally lesser devices. With the Reality, you’ll be getting a horizontal full QWERTY slide-out keyboard, and a 3-inch WQVGA (240 x 400) touchscreen hiding it away while it’s closed. It features social networking, with the ability to utilize a Samsung proprietary application called “Communities” to change your status messages. It also features a 3.2MP camera on the back.
As for messaging, you can access text, picture, and video messaging for the standard type. You’ve also got mobile IM, mobile email, mobile chat, and mobile web email at your disposal. So, you’ll definitely find a reason to use that full keyboard, we imagine. You will also get a MicroSD card slot, for memory expansion up to 16GB. The Reality will go on sale April 22nd, and cost $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate. Full press release below.
