The Samsung Moment launched on the Sprint Network alongside the HTC Hero last year. While many went for the Hero because of HTC’s beautifully implemented Sense User Interface, the Moment was –and still is– a device to be reckoned with. It’s got one of the fastest processors on the market, an excellent slide-out physical QWERTY keyboard, and a roomy screen to do all your touching. With all that being said, it looks like Samsung is ready to rock the boat with a new version, and its aptly named the Moment 2.

There’s only a single, blurrycam shot of the new device, and it certainly does look like it could be the big brother to the current generation Moment. As features go, there’s not a lot known. It’s supposedly running Android 2.1, and it’s also featuring Samsung’s TouchWiz 3.0 User Interface, so that will either win some people over, or push them away. Of course, it’s going to Sprint, it’s a CDMA-based device, and the device is not going to support Samsung’s new Super AMOLED display, so that’s super disappointing.
But, there’s no reason to think that this device wont’ be just as good, if not better than what’s currently available for the Sprint network. It will definitely be a good addition to the Android line-up for the third largest wireless carrier in the States. Of course they’ve still got the EVO 4G ready to hit shelves this Summer, so hopefully Samsung doesn’t market this device as its competition. We don’t see it standing much of a chance.
