Samsung Confirmed Omnia2 and i8910 HD Pricing and Release Date for Singapore Mobile Users

Powered by Windows Mobile (Omnia II) and Symbian OS (i8910 HD), Samsung today announced its release plan in Singapore for both smartphones. Just announced last month, the Samsung Omnia2 will be available from this weekend (18-July) at a recommended retail price of S$898 (615 USD) without contract. The Windows phone is using the Windows Mobile 6.1 professional edition and can be upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.5 later. As for the Samsung i8910 HD, it is not carrying Omnia branding and will be available from 1 August at a recommended retail price of S$1,098 (750 USD) without contract.

First unveiled at Mobile World Congress as the first Symbian full-touch handset to be released by Samsung Electronics, the Samsung i8910 is offering a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, 8 megapixel camera and supports HSUPA 5.76Mbps and HSDPA 7.2Mbps. The Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) touch screen offers unrivalled sharpness of tone, vivid colours and efficiency in power consumption.
