Early this month BoyGeniusReport has revealed that the upcoming BlackBerry Thunder will be named as BlackBerry 9530. More information is available today with the packaging box leaked on engadgetmobile. Apparently it will be called BlackBerry Storm 9530 for Verizon Wireless, comes with 3.5mm headset jack, pre-installed sim card and without WiFi. Verizon Wireless is generous enough to bundle in a 8GB microSD card. The BlackBerry Storm 9530 is said to be available in mid-October, or 13th October to be exactly according to the previous rumor.

no WIFI? that’s not good, not good at all.

Really? How can you tell? If you are going by what it says on the box, it doesn’t say much. Doesn’t list MP3 player, camera, GPS, EVDO or mention any other network connection type. Not saying that it DOES have WiFi, just wondering how you came to the conclusion that it didn’t have WiFi.
Anyone else that can confirm if this is true?
Just wondering if anyone really thinks the 13th of October is really a solid date for this considering VZW is still having issues getting OS 4.5 to work with Pearls and Curves?
I mean, seriously, if you can’t get older hardware to work with new OS’s, then why on earth do we expect them to have a new package for the storm in a month?
I have a pearl from vzw and my os 4.5 works great, on WIFI why on earth would you need it if you still have to get the data plan for any BB device. I get service and evdo everywhere i go. Having WIFI just drains your battery anyway.
