Rumor: Apple to Announce 3 New iPhones This Year

According to Canaccord Adams analyst Peter Misek, Apple might announce up to 3 new iPhones this year but not just one as what they did past 2 years. First iPhone 3G will get an memory upgrade, which featuring a 32GB storage space for music and videos. Secondly another new 2.5G iPhone will be built specially for consumer market in China and India and lastly an iPhone Nano, about one-third the size of the current 3G iPhone will be introduced with cheaper price.

    im not so sure that is much of an upgrade to the previous version of the iphone, furthermore i think that the developers should make significant changes to the iphone if they want to stay in competition with for instance the blackberry storm

    I thought I read the upgrade would include allowing picture texting. That would be great.
    I wish they would upgrade the camera to at least include zoom or video. I think the photo capability is a bit lacking.

    I actually own 1st gen iphone. I do believe the speaker was fixed on 3G version. Definelty a 5.0MP camera with zoom would make me upgrade. Java support one day is a must along with SMS and larger sideways keyboard for all APPS (which I read is coming). Phone is cheaper than when I bought it, but plan is now $15 more per month!!!!

    Yes, the iPhone 3.0 Software being released this summer 2009 will have full Text, Picture, Contact Info, Audio attachment capability via the NEW (to iPhone) MMS texting. Its really cool. I know this because I’m an approved iPhone independent software developer and have access to the software already. It’s already on my phone but the full MMS is not unlocked yet until the general release. I can answer any questions regarding what’s on the 3.0 software upgrade coming soon. Also, I’m testing the new iTunes 8.2 beta software (just released to us) currently which works hand-in-hand with the newest beta 4 release of the 3.0 OS. As far as what their new phones are going to look like, well they don’t tell us that info either.

    The other thing you must know is that 3.0 will allow you FULL bluetooth 2.0 stereo so you can not only make and receive calls via bluetooth but also listen to full stereo music via bluetooth. You will NOT need a bluetooth Dongle to listen to music via bluetooth headphones.

    Also, the new 3.0 OS will allow us developers to provide you with FM transmitter applications which will allow you to listen to your music on a radio station in your car without any 100$ piece of equipment attached to your car. All you’ll need is one of the new apps, your iPhone and your car stereo. Nothing else. The new 3.0 software will save you hundreds of dollars on additional equipment to do the things you really want to do.

    As far as I know the camera will still be the same, don’t think the OS will effect the pixel resolution.

    Also, most to all built in apps that come on your iPhone will allow side-ways keyboard including with your text messaging. It’s really cool and a lot easier to use.

    Plus, you’ll get a NEW search functionality which will let you search your entire phone for any keywords you choose.

    You’ll also get a NEW built in Microphone Audio Recorder App to record notes to yourself. Like… “Remember to pick-up milk at the store” etc.

    This and much more is coming this summer on 3.0 software release for the iPhone 3g an iPod touch.
