Today is the day of days for BlackBerry fans. After a few weeks of constant speculation and leaks, Research In Motion have finally decided that announcing their latest BlackBerry handset, the Bold 9650, would be a good idea. So we finally get those official screenshots we’ve been waiting for, along with the official documentation regarding the specifications. It’s about time, we know, so go ahead and read on and find out if this will be your next handset.

The Bold 9650 features an optical trackpad, and the same familiar full QWERTY keyboard layout that you’ve come to know and love over the years. It’s not featuring OS 6.0, but we’ll keep our fingers crossed that it’s in line to get it. On the back, you’ll find a 3.2MP camera with autofocus and image stabilization, also a flash for those who like taking night shots. You can find WiFi b/g on board as well, along with the GPS and Bluetooth connectivity we’ve come to expect. A MicroSD card slot means you can add your music to the device, along with images and video, and RIM even included a 2GB card in the box.
While there wasn’t any official word on pricing or release date with the initial announcement, it’s been released since that the Bold 9650 will be hitting up Sprint in May, and come with a price tag of $200, with a new two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. So, does this do it for you?
