Research: Teenagers Tended to Use Mobile Phones for Banking

The young consumers, between 18 and 34, preferred using their mobile phones for banking purpose, Opinion Research found. Ah, yes, with one condition: if there were no extra fees involved.

Despite SlashPhone recently wrote about another study which suggested that mobile banking still not popular among users, but according to a new study prepared for IBM, the survey of 1,424 mobile users noted that 21% in the younger age group used mobile banking applications compared to just 10% of older consumers.

The nation’s largest mobile phone service providers — AT&T and Verizon Wireless — have mounted extensive programs to lure consumers to mobile banking. The more creative mobile contents and applications, the more money will go through the consumer’s hand and handset.
