Rambler Media and ICQ announce the launch of a free Short Message Service (SMS) text messaging feature available for all users of Rambler-ICQ. In addition to regular IM service, users are now able to send free SMS text messages to any subscriber of the three leading mobile operators MTS, Beeline or MegaFon through Rambler-ICQ. SMS recipients can reply to the sender’s ICQ by simply using the “reply” option at the mobile operator’s rate.

Rambler-ICQ users are able to make web searches using Rambler Search, integrated into the program, which is an efficient driver to use Rambler.ru as their starting page of choice and the Rambler Assistant functions. Rambler and ICQ are focused on offering users a superior instant messaging service and will continue developing features to further improve user experience.

Something similar works also in my country. Unfortunately I have never tried it, so I can’t tell you my experience. However, it’s pretty popular around here, so I suppose it’s very good service.
