If you are using Nokia N96, Nokia has released new software upgrade last week for most of the regions. The software will upgrade Nokia N96 to version 11.018 or 11.101 depends on your regions. These software releases contain improvements in the Live TV application (read more about Live TV here), sharper pictures through better imaging quality and autofocus accuracy, and faster system wide execution speed.

This software release is available through either the Nokia Software Updater or directly through your Nokia N96. To get this software through your Nokia N96, click Menu > Tools > Utilities > Device Manager. Select Options > Check for updates and follow the on-screen prompts. Remember that you can also use Wi-Fi to download the update.

This UPDATE doesn’t do what it says on the tin!!! Nokia need to spend more time on this! Its seriously annoying!
i purchased a n96 when they first came out as did my wife as nokia have a good rep. well its the worst phone i have ever brought 500 quid on a piece of garbage freezes, shuts down, locks off itself, never picks up updates via phone only works by xp doesnt like vista so not compatible i really want to throw this through a window or swap for a samsung never had aproblem with the f700 or e900 or any other i have had .would not recomend this phone to anyone ..
I agree this has to be the worst phone ever build quality is cheap & the software is all over the place if it was a car it would be recalled
N96 is the biggest failure model of nokia launched in 2008.Nokia does not believe in replying to emails in a prompt manner.
I agree that this is the worst phone Nokia have made to date, i have had nothing but problems with my 96 since i got it the 1st week it came out, it freezes, re-starts itself at the most annoying of moments, and generally does NOT do exactly what it says on the tin!! It is the biggest pile of s#*t that i’ve had the misfortune to own! I had two N95’s before, one of the 1st ones and an 8 Gig version which i didn’t think were too bad, the older one actually being the better of the two because of being able to fit in a bigger memory , but nokia seriously need to go right back to the drawing board with the N96 and start again, and what’s more they shouldn’t be charging “US” the guinea pigs for testing thier sodding phones out!!
this is the worst phone i have ever coma across. black screen, have to turn it off take battery out n restart. silent mode does not work at all. tried going into settings but nothing works. wish i had stuck to my samsung phones
I thought the N96 was meant to specialize on video’s and is advertised as no.1 for watching videos on??? what a f*@king joke that is, besides all the other problems I also have with mine, I cant even access my videos. I only have about 6-8 small clips I have taken and every time I try to view them the phone freezes and I have to take the battery out and restart it and even then it is slow and freezes continuously with anything I do. I am disgusted in this phone, as I paid just under $1000 australian when it first came out…….PISSED.
