MeeGo is a new mobile Operating System from the hive mind that is Nokia, as well as a few other major companies out there. And, while we’ve seen all sorts of demos over there at SlashGear, we’ve been waiting patiently over here, ’round these parts, before we get our coverage, due to the fact that up until now, it’s been mainly conjecture about being on a phone. Or, let alone a phone being announced. Until now, it seems. A new video’s popped up, showing what could be Nokia’s N9 — it certainly has the same approach, and looks a lot like the N900.

But, low budget films make us think that something’s amiss, so we’ll go ahead and put our speculator’s cap on this morning. This device, the N9, does have the same aesthetic approach as the N900, certainly, and those keys do have a pretty good look to them. And, one noted journalist out there, Eldar Murtazin, says that he’s seen the real N9, and this video shows something strikingly similar to the design he saw. So, basically, this low budget film fest could be an early, early build of the device, before the original design got scrapped for whatever really is floating around out there.
The video itself focuses on connectivity, which means we can probably expect a lot of different ways to connect to your peers: social networking, and messaging services. Exactly what (pretty much) every other smartphone out there is doing. It will also apparently have video chat (that’s big over in the States now, right?), and be a powerhouse when it comes to multitasking. But, enough of us talking; check out the video below, and make your judgment. What do you think? Is this the real deal?
