Nokia introduces Lifecasting with Ovi

Today, at Nokia World 2009 in Stuttgart, Nokia CEO and President Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo says that Nokia expands in new directions where social Internet and music experience are the key factors.  “We are not only connecting people but also connecting world,” he said.

nokiaworldAccording to OPK, together with Nokia’s recent announcements –Nokia Money, the Nokia N900, Nokia Booklet 3G, Nokia 5230 and Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition– Nokia is proud to lead the charge in smartphones and beyond with “the Nokia N900 and Nokia Booklet 3G.” Nokia will also release its new XSeries music phone, the Nokia X6 and the Nokia X3 in in Q4 this year.

In term of social Internet, Nokia announced lifecasting with Ovi, the first application to let people publish their location and status updates directly to their Facebook account from the home screen of a mobile device. Lifecasting with Ovi will be available for both the Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini via Nokia Beta Labs.

Based on the iconic design of the Nokia N97, the Nokia N97 mini is a smaller mobile computer with stylish stainless steel cues, featuring a tilting 3.2″ touch display, QWERTY keyboard and fully customizable homescreen.

Nokia will release new Nokia N97 v2.0 firmware this October. The new software will bring new homescreen widgets and additional usability improvements including flick scrolling.
