New Mail for Exchange 2.5 Add Exchange 2007 Feature Support

If you are using a Microsoft Exchange 2007 and Nokia E-series/N-series phone, upgrading to the new Mail for Exchange 2.5 is a must to enjoy the support of Exchange 2007 features like Out of Office setting.

For users with mailboxes on an Exchange 2007 email server, the following features have
been added.

  • Out of Office: This feature allows the user to set the out of office status and autoreply
    message from the device.
  • Follow Up Flags: This allows the user to see flags on the device for emails that
    have been flagged on the server. The user may also set, clear, or complete flags
    on the device.
  • Mailbox Policies: These policies allow your administrator to control devices
    requesting to synchronize with the server.
    • AllowSimpleDevicePassword: allow or disallow simple passwords like
      “12345″ or “1111″
    • AttachmentsEnabled: allows attachments to be downloaded
    • DevicePasswordExpiration: defines the length of time a password can be
      used before it must be changed
    • DevicePasswordHistory: defines the number of old passwords to be
      saved so that user can not reuse them
    • MaxAttachmentSize: maximum size of attachments that will be allowed
      to be downloaded to the device
    • MaxCalendarAgeFilter: maximum range of calendar days allowed to be
      synchronized to the device
    • MaxEmailAgeFilter: maximum number of days of email allowed to be
      synchronized to the device
    • MaxEmailBodyTruncationSize: the size emails will be truncated to when
      initially downloaded to the device
    • RequireManualSyncWhenRoaming: prevent automatic synchronization
      when the device is roaming

Note that to begin using the new Exchange 2007 server features you must perform a Full Resync
on the device (Options>Full resync) after you have upgraded to Mail for Exchange 2.5.0.
