Microsoft’s Project Pink Devices Coming to Verizon Shelves April 20th

In case you missed it, Microsoft had a pretty big announcement just under a month ago. They were at Barcelona, in Spain, attending Mobile World Congress, and they dropped the official bomb on the world regarding their upcoming mobile Operating System, now forever known as Windows Phone 7 Series. But, another project from Microsoft wasn’t included in that speech: Project Pink. As of recent though, rumors have been swirling around regarding its existence. And, in fact, its imminent launch.

At the Windows Phone 7 keynote, the presenters informed those watching that AT&T would be the premiere partner for the mobile OS launch during the holiday season. But, it seems that Verizon Wireless has been chosen to carry the workload of Project Pink (or whatever it will be officially called), as they are primed to launch the two known devices: the Turtle and Pure. The two devices are manufactured by Sharp, which you might remember from the old SideKick days. And if a tipster to the online site Engadget is correct, then it looks like the two devices will be made available to the public on April 20th.

Considering the fact that Windows Phone 7 Series is primed at a more media-heavy customer, and those who want to have work and play on the same device, there’s no surprise that these Project Pink devices are aimed toward the teen age-range. From the looks of these devices, that’s about the only “range” that would want them. At least, that little round Turtle, anyway. The Pure and Turtle are meant to be messenger-oriented, so thankfully they’ve got the full QWERTY keyboards to back it up. If this is all true, and we firmly believe it is, April is going to be a pretty interesting month.

I think this mobile phone would appeal to women only and that too on a small scale. The design of this phone is not good and makes it look unattractive.
