MetroPCS to Offer ZTE C79 Music Phone

ZTE USA today announced the general availability of the ZTE C79 handset in the U.S. market. The ZTE C79, a CDMA AWS flip phone, is being offered by carrier MetroPCS to subscribers in the U.S. markets. The ZTE C79 includes over 60 MB of user memory for downloading games and applications as well as an MP3 player which includes external music keys.

Featuring a sleek design and affordable price point, the ZTE C79 also includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth and picture messaging. The handset operates on AWS frequency bands in addition to the PCS and Cellular bands.

    I hate this phone!!! I just purchased it on the 22nd of this month. It will not let me download any ringtones!!! It only has polyphonic ringtones in the phone. You cannot get real ring tones. It will not let me send music to the mp3 player. I thought it was because i needed a memory card. I go get the memory card and it still doesnt work. I hate this phone!!! I just want to throw it out the window!!! I will not refer this phone to anyone!!!

    I don’t know about you guys but I like the phone it was the best phone I’ve ever got.Still needs a memory card but I can go out and buy one it olny cost 30 dollers for 2 gb at netbook USA.

    Queston for Steve and Jonathan, did you read the previous posts at all? Phone does not work neither with or with out a memory card. Im glad that I ran into this site, I thought that I was the only one getting a headache putting up with metro PCS. Lets not bother to go further into their service, and technical support. You would have a better chance wind surfing on a cloud butt naked before ever recieving decent service or technical support. To Sum it all up Metro PCS is Garbage. Lets all get together and Form a bondfire with thier horrible phones… they dont work properly anyway!

    hey guys..idk why but my ringtone does not work when somebody calls me..it rings the regular ringtone but not mine..?why is this.?any help?

    I just purchased this phone on the 4th of this month. I did not have any problems loading the music to my 2GB memory card, however, I still can not load any free music ringtones. I can purchase music ringtones from the web on the phone though. RJS, how did you get your ringtones on the phone? The memory card has been formatted and the only folders I have are: my images and my music.

    Listen you have 2 covert your music to mp3 format. If not it will not play it on the music player. This phone is great. You just have to learn how to use it.

    I just bought the phone on friday and I think the phone is decent. Its not an iPod by any means but you can put Mp3′s on there once you get the memory card. What I haven’t learned how to do is put ringtones on there without having to purchase them. I don’t like any of the ringtones that come with the phone. If anyone figures out how to get into the MyTunes folder and put your own tones into it let me know please.

    from what i was told you have to download the ringtones from a computer bc the phone itself wont let you use them as ringtones if you get it of them of the phone

    Trying to call anyone at customer service who makes this phone is just wasting time. Once you format the memory card you can download music and put in a playlists phone works fine only one problem I can’t get javascript downloaded does any one know how

    I will say this. I love the Zte c79. i think you guys have to read into you’re paperwork before you knock down a nice phone. First of all format on the computer, then place into the phone. After doing this, you will have no problem getting any of you’re downloads.

    NO screen-it doesn’t work so don’t bother. the name will pop up while your phone is ringing–so if you happen to SEE that you’re missing a call, great–but then later, when and IF it tells you that you have a missed call–”no name.” about the “if” it tells you have a missed call. I tested my phone by calling it from another phone twice. I left a voice mail both times…however, when I went to check that on my phone it said that I had NO voicemail AT ALL, i never even dialed out of the phone–just left a message, and it was just i guess deleted somehow–so scary if an employer calls or a client (for a business owner) calls, tells me they left a message and then think I either a.) ignored them or b.) am lying when I say I never received a voicemessage. Also, I mentioned earlier that I’d called twice and left 2 separate voicemails–well, later that day, my phone said that I had NO missed calls–they just magically dissappeared. Wow–um, you’d have to be STUPID to buy MetroPCS after reading this, now that you KNOW that you may or may not receive the voicemails, or at least the missed calls callers leave you.

    Oh yeah, and this was a brand new phone and a brand new service. I am returning it. What a waste of gasoline, time, and energy spent researching what phone would work.

    Oh yeah, one more thing…4 years ago I’d put MetroPCS on my phone without telling like anyone, and it just turned out like that night or next day I would have ended up deperately needing it well…hmm…yeah, I payed for a service, and didn’t receive it–nothing…I thougth it was some stupid operartor human error–but nope, just a HORRIBLE business plan for cellphones…sorry, I was previously a fan of no contracts–but not for causing potential contracts–i’ll be without a phone until I can afford better.

    to make the mp3 player work you have to first put the micro sd card in the phone and go to music and media and select format microsd and then select yes it will take a couple minutes then it will say sd card formated then plug it in your computer with the suplyd usb cord or take the card out and plug it in the compter a sreen will pop up saying removable driv with a list of what you want to do.if you dont format it in the phone first it wont work.after that works fine no problems downloading images or music to the phone from the computer or from the computer to the phone.

    dont plug in the charger or the usb charger when you format it it puts the phone in a difrent mode and wont work i had that problem.and after you download music from your computer plug out the usb cord other wise it wont show your my music on your phone it will only acess the card from your computer when pluged into the usb

    i was told that even a 1mb card will work but i have a 8gb card so im not shure about that.but i know you do have to have a card in there for it to work.also you have to push the card in real hard to lock it in there if the card is just hanging out and you cant close the flap its not connected to your phone.dont be afraid to push the card in the phone ass hard as you can.the door will close when its in all the way conected and it will make a sound when conected.

    when i put the card in,
    it shows an icon saying its in, at the top.

    then when i plug in to USB nothing happens.
    but i did hit format like mopar said…?

    nothings happening on the computer or anything?

    after pluging it in the computer go to computer yull see anouther hard driv econ that says removable disk g click on that it will take you into the card you can also copy music files from your music folder and past in that removable g hard drive folder and it will start downloading it to your card

    when you plug your phone in with the usb does your phone start charging if not you probely have a bad usb cord

    you could need a bigger card at least 2gb or your card could be defective i bought a 8gb the first time and took it back becouse it only showed 4gb.you can get a 2gb for 7 dollers at frys.you can get a 8gb atfrys for 30 dollers. try exchanging your card if above doesnt work

    o ya also try giong to system on yur phone with it unpluged and and go to saving options make shure its set to microsd if its just set on the phone it wont work eather. put it on microsd

    I managed to get music onto the SD card in the phone under “MyMusic” in the phone menu and I can play the music on the mp3 player. I would like to use those music files as ringtones but I cant figure out how… and the manual doesnt help… It seems to be looking for the music under “MyTunes” not “MyMusic”. Has anyone figured out how to do this or if this is possible? Thanks.

    if you are having problems putting songs on your phone, go to medafan.com/cd-ripper/ and download the fre software that converts your files to mp3 format and then load them onto your micro sd

    Wow okay, well I have this phone I have had it since it has came out I enjoy it it does play real ringtones, you just have to know how to get them. The reason you can’t get them to play is b/c you have to bluetooth them to your phone or download them with the hanndy little USB cord the put in the box for you! The phone holds about 15 to 20 real and full songs for ringtones. And no you do not need to format the card to put anything on it that is only if your card had something else alredy on it. I enjoy this phone and to be honest if you don’t know how to work a phone you don’t have any use for one. Its a pretty easy phone to work with. The only downside is that to do anything with the phone you have to open it. Meaning to take a pic you have to open it and all that. I love the external music buttons! I would like some help with leaning how to use the “ChatLink” but other than that I have had no problems with this phone.

    i had the same question for P money… is there software you need to buy for the phone in order to get the MP3 stuff to work on the phone.cuz i have the card but idk how to convert the music to mp3 what about if the files are already in mp3 format??? what then????
