Live Translation Demonstrated with Google Goggles

Check out this live demonstration from Google, showing their new Google Goggles prototype to help you translate the foreign languages by capturing the image with your phone camera. The prototype currently only do translation from German to English, they are hoping to complete a final version with the capability of 52 languages supported. Watch the video below.

    Nice, but not good enough.
    When traveling, with horrific data rates,”send to a server” is simply not an option for OCR.
    It might be good for data collection about the user, but not for the usefulness of the application.

    It must be a offline, standalone OCR engine behind it.. google should just buy “World Lens”
