LG Windows Phone 7 Series Device Leaked, Not the Panther

We shouldn’t be surprised that there’s a ridiculous amount of Windows Phone 7 Series information coming out, considering the MIX10 event is still going on. But this is almost ridiculous, now. As we’ve previously seen, LG already has a handset marked for the Windows Phone 7 Series treatment, but if this image you’re seeing now is meant to be believed, then it looks like the company does indeed have another device in the works.

As you can see, it’s not the Panther, which was originally unveiled a few weeks ago, and then shown off again at MIX10 on Monday, alongside the unnamed Samsung device. The image itself originally appeared on the site Neowin, but has been pulled as of this writing. That could be for a lot of different reasons, but it could be mainly for the reason that the device is real, and a ways away from being launched. Or, it could very well be that it’s fake. (Though, we’ve seen a lot worse fan renders.)

As for details about the device, those are few and far between at this point. It’s said to have a full QWERTY (physical) keyboard, which is reminiscent of the Panther. It’s also got a 800×480 pixel resolution for the touchscreen. Our main question, is why LG would be releasing two devices with a hardware, slide-out keyboard. Options are great, but if you make the options too similar to one another, what’s the point? We’re not sure if we’re counting this for a real device yet or not. It makes perfect sense that the manufacturer would have more devices being created, so it’s perfectly possible that this was a legitimate leak. As soon as more information comes our way, we’ll pass it along.
