GreatCall and Verizon Wireless today announced that Jitterbug will now run on the Verizon Wireless network through the open development program. Jitterbug monthly services now also offer more minutes and more affordable night and weekend calling than were previously available with Jitterbug plans.

“We know that there are a lot of people out there that just want a simple cell phone experience and together with Verizon Wireless, we can now offer more new services based on cutting edge wireless technology, and make our services more affordable,” said David Inns, chief executive officer of GreatCall. “Jitterbug is committed to giving our growing family of customers the best service experience possible, and this is another example of us achieving that goal.”

The plans of Just5 appear more practical than the plans of Jitterbug. With Just5, each minute only costs $.10. This provider basically offer four plans, the first three come with limited minutes and 50 text messages and the fourth one is an unlimited plan that only costs $40 for 30 days. All minutes are good for 90 days and rollover when refilled. Just5 really provide practical offers to their consumers because each of my parents only spends $3.33 a month when they get the cheapest minute plan. That a lot of savings!
