iPhone 4 Set to Launch with 512MB of RAM
Whether or not Apple goes out of their way to announce how much memory is in a phone, outside that usually lofty GB usage, isn’t really an argument. They tend to keep it under wraps for as long as they can, even if it’s not necessarily apparent why they do. With the announcement of the iPhone 4, there was little mention of how many megabytes of RAM would be shoved inside. But, thanks to MacRumors, we can finally assume how much is going to be tucked away.
So, that means you get the same processor that’s in the iPad, but actually twice the amount of RAM. The same goes for the iPhone 3GS (which means you get a better processor and better memory). No, it isn’t groundbreaking to have this much RAM inside a mobile phone, but it’s good to see that Apple’s not messing around, and keeping up with the times.
