HTC Wildfire Confirmed for Virgin Mobile UK [Update: T-Mobile Confirmed as Well]
You didn’t already forget about the Wildfire from HTC, did you? Surely not. It’s the new entry-level Android powered handset, running the latest version of Android and skinned with HTC’s Sense User Interface (UI). Basically, a bunch of good stuff shoved into a budget-conscious piece of hardware. In other words: a win-win situation, if you ask us. And while we knew it was primed for a third quarter launch, this year, we didn’t know for sure which carriers across the pond would be picking it up. Now we do.

Not all of them, of course. Just one so far, but it’s one that makes the most sense, right off the bat. Virgin Mobile UK is a wireless carrier concentrating on prepaid wireless service, so to launch the HTC Wildfire on their network seems to make the most sense. The only trouble is, you’ll have to pay a small premium on the handset itself, considering you won’t be getting any kind of contract. We’ll just have to hope that the full retail price matches that “entry-level” stand-point.
Update: Looks like T-Mobile (not T-Mobile USA, mind you) have officially come forward and said that they, too, will be carrying the HTC Wildfire. So, expect that 3.2-inch touchscreen goodness, with a 5MP camera to hit T-Mobile around June 14th, on a £20 per month plan (for 24 months).
