Bad move from HTC launching a EDGE version instead of 3G, i dont think i would want to upgrade again once 3G is launched in India. Would rather wait for 3G Diamond or the iphone 3G.

    Really bad move from HTC…
I was soooo excited to buy this phone, but once I came to know abt EDGE phone launching in India, that too with airtel, my whole mood was spoiled..
I hope they launch 3G phone along with EDGE..

I think, 3G will b launching in India withen a year.. So y the hell they r not providing 3G in india ????

Not good, I’m in the UK and I was going to get one from India and use here but it appears to be only edge.not sure if it comes with both features and it will pick up 3g if in country that supports it.

If not, I’lll have to buy it here in UK,

  4. Vijayakumar says:

Very Stupid idea no one going buy the phone, i waited man, what a waste of time!

  5. Arun says:

I guess 3G will be introduced in India this year End. I dont understand why they are not launching the 3G. Even i was so excited to buy this one. Hope they launch the 3G one soon.

Also i heard that they have both models – without 3G and with 3G. And the prices are different also.
    Without 3G – 27000/-
    With 3G – 34000/-

this is the most absurd move by HTC and their buddies Airtel…. they should have left the decision on the customer for the handset to be choosen… believe you me, these idiots think that we in India are ignorant, techno deprived 3rd world country men who will grab anything that comes their way….
let them design this edge handset and then shove it up both the ceo’s anatomical rear end… so that they can enjoy the saddistic plaesure upon themselves!@!

have to agree with all other readers that this indeed is a bad move on htc part to launch their latest mobile without the latest features. I was looking forward to buy this phone for long now, from the time I heard about it, but now I would not even think about it. I wonder why some of these people have this wrong impression about India that we dont want to spend more for better features. Who is htc to decide what the Indians should buy?
Instead they should have launched both the versions and let the people decide what they want. I feel like kicking myself for not having tried and obtained the 3G version abroad.
Once again BAD BAD move from htc and an insult to Indians.

  8. sanil says:

maybe that they think in a country where laptop is available for 20k, introducing a Windows mobile for 34k is not a good idea.but its an insult to all Indians, but hitting the market with a 3G Diamond before the official launch of much hyped iPhone would certainly have given htc an edge, rather than only the EDGE. Poor guys, even George Bush knows the great Indian middle class is larger than the entire American population,Peter Chou should have known better.

  9. Karthic says:

Well it’s a very very good news for all the other manufactures like samsung, sony ericsson and nokia. Let them give another model without EDGE, GPRS and Camera for 20k. I’m quite happy that they are atleast providing text message, picture message and contact memories. Is this options good for latest technology freaks?:p

  10. Avy says:

This is rubbish. I liked the phone so much and waited for it for so long but now I have to think something else. I think the 3G phone would have been a great hit in India. I have not seen someone using this EDGE version yet. Whats the point doing this…hope they launch the 3G version soon…
