Although HTC has not revealed any info on the HTC Maple, CNet Germany has managed to see the real unit at the Mobile World Congress. The HTC Maple is the successor of Excalibur, has the same candy bar design with a QWERTY keyboard.

The smartphone is running Windows Mobile Standard edition, does not have a touch screen on board for touch input. It is also added with a trackball at the middle, giving you the choice of scrolling through pages easily. A new software feature called “Inner Circle” will be pre-installed to help you group your contacts into different categories (circles) like work, friends so that you can access info related to the selected circle. Availability date for the HTC Maple is unknown at the moment.
