When it comes to street dates, we’re positive that it’s not only the bane of consumer’s existence (after all, who likes to wait?), but also those of the employees at establishments that have to wait to sell it. Especially considering there’s a lot of levels of management to go through, like at Walmart for instance, where you have to know every single release date of all those movies, games, and whatever else be laying in the back room. It’s crazy! So what happens when someone screws up and breaks a street date? Well, you’ll see.
Thanks to JDMiPhoner (a former iPhone fan, apparently), he was able to walk into the local Walmart up in Vancouver, Washington, and purchase an HTC HD2 for T-Mobile USA. Yeah, we’ve talked about it before, and it’s definitely the real deal. While we normally wouldn’t post something of this nature, considering that in most cases it’d be heresy, but we’ve got video proof this time. JDMiPhoner went home, and did the standard unboxing video. And, as he puts it, it is indeed the first consumer unboxing of the HTC HD2 for T-Mobile USA. Congratulations, JDMiPhoner.
The HD2 is set to launch on the 24th of this months, so it’s not like it’s weeks in advance, but as anyone who pays attention knows, street dates are taken very seriously. So, let’s hope that no one at Walmart sees the video who has the capacity to fire an electronics employee. Because if they do, well, you can fill in the blanks. Is anyone out there going to run out to their Walmart and see if they can score the device, too? Let us know how it goes!
