Works via the Exchange Activesync, Hotmail now allows you to accept push mail from your account to supported devices. Devices tested with the new feature include WM 6.x, WP7, iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad and Nokia phones running Mail for Exchange application. According to the FAQ, the Hotmail push is not officially supported on Android yet, however, you might be able to use it using the Touch Down android software.

If your device supports only one profile of ActiveSync, delete the existing ActiveSync profile on your device if you already use it
Enter the following:
URL – m.hotmail.com
Username – Enter full name with domain info, e.g. john@hotmail.com
Domain – Leave blank
SSL – Enabled
Certificate – Accept the SSL certificate when prompted
Mail, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks – All can be enabled.
