Just few days after the root access to the T-Mobile G1′s Android OS has been found, the Android team has quickly push up the RC30 software patch to close up the security loophole. Not all T-Mobile G1 users has received the update notification yet, but some users have chose to ignore this update to put the root access remain open.

Google has made a comment on the issues, “We’ve been notified of this issue (Jailbreaking of Android) and have developed a fix. We’re currently working with our partners to push the fix out and updating the open source code base to reflect these changes.”
It is not sure that if users can completely ignore this updates, according to a member of xda-developers, Google can force a software update on your Android smartphone, without giving you any prompt for selection.
