Future Windows Mobile to Feature Over-the-air OS Updates?

windowsmobileAs a Windows Mobile smartphone user, every ROM upgrades for the Windows Mobile are always followed by a software re-installation. This might get better, in the near future though, according to a job posting on Microsoft site. The company is looking for one to join its Windows Mobile device update team and to improve the “Device Update” service for worry free upgrade.

The OTA windows mobilel update might not be available till 2010, although Microsoft is planning to release the new Windows Mobile 6.5 by end of this year. The next Windows Mobile 7 is expected to be available earliest in 2010 next year.

    I’ve heard much of the same. I think we will see OTA and one-click updates in the near future. It just makes sense to do so and with the advances of windows mobile 6.5 and the rumors of version 7, I am sure this is likely under development.
