Is it possible to view avi files with a MPX200?

Hello all, I am new to this site, this is my first post. I read somewhere you could only view asf files on the mpx200, but I heard there is a way to view avi files. Forgive me if I sound stupid, I know nothing about smartfones. Doesn't windows media player support avi files?

I know you can watch on AVI with IA Album 2.0, but I think it uses a proprietary codec for the most part. Easy way: Use the freeware Windows Media Encoder, and recode to a Windows Media format first, then transfer. An extra step, but probably the easiest and most reliable.
