Bsquare Corporation today announced the development of an Adobe Flash Platform technology browser plug-in for ARM-based devices running Google’s Android 1.5 “Cupcake” platform. The port is significant in that it will enable OEMs to provide a richer Web browsing and media experience on smartphones and smartbooks.

Announced on Monday, European Commission is getting supports from major mobile phone manufacturers for using micro-USB port to charge the phone battery. Those manufacturers represent about 90 percent of Europe's market share, which include Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Apple, LG, NEC, RIM (BlackBerry), Qualcomm and Texas Instruments.

O2 announced that its mobile broadband customers will have access to BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots, which can be used after an upgrade to O2’s Mobile Broadband Connection Manager software. The deal with BT Openzone offers an additional 3,000 hotspots (including most branches of Starbucks), and builds on the unlimited Wi-Fi all O2 customers benefit from with their O2 mobile broadband tariff.

Despite the fact that Nokia and Intel recently announce their Moblin & Maemo Linux platforms collaboration, Nokia plans to launch an ARM-based netbook with Google's Android operating system in 2010, GigaOM writes.
