Uploading music has to be done through using an SD card. I just purchased an 8 gig card (the biggest for this phone). Place the new card into the phone so that it can format it and then take the card out once it is complete, only took a few seconds. Then place the card into either an adaptor or card reader and your computer will open it up as a file folder. Copy and paste into the music file that the phone created on the card and close the window. Ask your computer if it's okay to eject, then remove the card and take it out of the adaptor and then place it back into your phone. It should automatically accept it and in your music file you will find your newly added songs.
Enjoy :)

I Love this phone! I don't really know how long the battery lasts yet as I can't stop playing with it. Most of the time I'm draining it because it's searching for signal in the basement of one of my class buildings, but the mp3 player sounds better than I thought it would, I can hear great on it whenever I call anyone. I'm new to qwerty keyboards for texting, but it's pretty simple too. Great phone.
