BlackBerry Bold 9650 Gets Photo Taken With Bold Markings

The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is one of those devices that’s seen some changes in its torrid history, well before it actually launches on any particular carrier. However, we’re hoping it’s all worth it. The last time we heard about the Bold 9650, it was actually in the middle of a name change. It was dropping the Tour branding, and picking up the Bold we are all now so familiar with. We can’t help but think this was the right thing to do.

Though, the more we look at it, the more we’re inclined to think the device does, indeed, look a lot like its Tour comrades. But, what do we know, right? Obviously there must be something about the phone that makes it jump up to the Bold line of devices, and we honestly can’t wait to find out what that feature may be. From what we can tell, there’s obviously the trademark QWERTY keyboard, along with the optical trackpad that the company has grown to love over the last year and a half.

We can also glean from the images, that the phone is destined for a CDMA-based carrier here in the States. So, what’s that mean? Either Verizon Wireless or Sprint. No T-Mobile USA or AT&T love from this bad boy, it seems. At least, not right away. And, if we had to put our money down on a carrier, we’re going to assume that it’s Verizon Wireless. They’ve got a flyer going around internally saying new devices are on the way, and this one is definitely one of the rumored handsets. As soon as we know more, we’ll pass it along.
