Symbian phone goes open source

The Symbian Foundation announced that its popular operating system is going open source now, meaning that any organisation can now use and modify  the code ”for any purpose”. The group announced this plan in 2008 and has accomplished the move at the present.

Motorola Backflip now available in China

Motorola launched their Android-based Motorola ME600 a.k.a the Backflip in China recently. The unlocked version will be sold directly by Motorola China for about 4,298 Chinese Yuan (US $629). The company’s third Android mobile device launched at the CES boasts a 320 x 480 pixels capacitive touchscreen and a full QWERTY physical keyboard.
