Windows Phone Marketplace is rolling out a Nokia-only section, dedicated to owners of Nokia’s Lumia devices. First spotted in France by Professor Thibault, The Verge reported, but one of the site’s readers commented that he/she already noticed this a few months ago.

Windows Phone Marketplace hits 50,000 apps

Windows Phone reached a key milestone this week. Microsoft’s Windows Marketplace now has more than 50,000 apps. Of these, 17,276 were added in the last 90 days and 8,010 were added in the last 30 days, All About Windows Phone reports.

LG Fantasy leaked, coming Q1 2012

First leaked in July by Pocketnow, the rendering image  of the Windows Phone 7 Mango-powered LG Fantasy now has some live photos, thanks to “a tester developer in Romania.”  The phone, coming up with a 4 inch IPS display and a 5MP or 8MP camera, should be released in the first quarter of 2012.

BlackBerry 6.1 platform announced at DevCon Asia, Bali!

RIM announced new BlackBerry 6.1 Application Platform for BlackBerry Smartphones on the BlackBerry Developer Conference Asia in Bali, Indonesia, today. According to Tyler Lessard, VP of Global Alliances and Developer Relations for RIM, the new tools/APIs include digital compass APIs, Open GL-ES 2.0, Window API and event-based geo-fencing location APIs.

Foxconn to make smartphones for Vizio

Motorola becomes two companies

Starting today, Motorola Inc will change its name to Motorola Solutions Inc (MSI) and will have a newly spun-off company called Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc (MMI). It means the current Motorola stock ticker (MOT) will be replaced by MSI and MMI.
