I purchase the ATT Quickfire over the weekend – one limitation I can’t seem to overcome is that it lacks a Bluetooth “File Transfer” Service. I cannot send data (ringtones, pictures etc.) from a Samsung Sync or a PC to the ATT Quickfire via Bluetooth.

  2. manas says:

  8. Stephanie says:

Hey I just found this page on AT&T
    http://www.wireless.att.com/answer-center/main.jsp?t=solutionTab&ft=searchTab&ps=solutionPanels&locale=en_US&_dyncharset=UTF-8&solutionId=KB98549&isSrch=Yes

The note at the bottom reads:
    Note:
At this time, Bluetooth music file transfer is not supported

If it can’t transfer music files it probably doesn’t support any bluetooth file transfer.
    Which sucks!

  9. ALy says:

I am thinkking of getting this phone for my bday, but is it worth it, i dont care bout bluetooth

  10. KurtMac says:

My sister just got the Quickfire and asked for my help in transferring files to it, and yes, Bluetooth file transfer is disabled. AT&T would rather you pay them to download ringtones, wallpapers and music from their service! They don’t include a USB cable with the phone, but the AT&T website claims it supports “USB Connection Mode.” The Quickfire appears to use the Micro-USB (mini-B) type USB plug, which I found on Monoprice for $1.90 and I’m going to get for my sister to see if it works.

  11. MasterDr4v3n says:

Well there is a work around…you can send yourself an MMS text message…the file has to be under 300kb in size. So go to your email and use this format (number here)@mms.att.net. Example 555-555-5555@mms.att.net Attach the audio file you have and congrats you have free ringtones. I would recommend an audio file 96kb bit rate within 20seconds. That format seems to work best, and YES you can do STEREO

  12. sonny18 says:

i am getting one in 2 weeks. is the phone awesome?

  13. uenil says:

    master-
i tried that and i never the message. do you have to have a 1 in front of the area code?

  14. Alan says:

Yeah i’ve been having problems opening my pictures and videos i have on a sim card that i put into the quickfire. Has anyone been having this problem? And does anyone know how ro fix it?

  15. fo sho says:

umm…yea i amm really excited to get this phone

  16. me says:

Does anyone recommend this phone or is it just a big waste?

  17. HelloHelloHello says:

What softeware works with this phone? Mobiledit!

  18. outlawracer says:

Yeah I like the phone a lot but the bluetooth thing really pisses me off. I cant believe they don’t allow file transfer.

So I think everyone here needs to start listing FREE ringtone makers. Not the ones that you make & then they charge you to send or save them.

Also any programs that work well with the quickfire should be listed. Thanks guys

  19. kiya says:

so i wont be able to send ringtones threw bluetooth if i buy this phone? or just from the computer to the phone ?

  20. Alex says:

Yes, you can’t transfer anything via Bluetooth, this probably is to try to make stupid people pay for ring tones. However you can just take out the microSD card and use an adapter to put it into any reader slot and copy files that way, or use MEdiaNet and point it to a site that has the picture/whatever you want, or just mail it to yourself.

I just got this phone not hours ago and while it’s really good so far, I can’t get it to play a video file I put on it, probably a codec problem as it was a DivX file. I will downconvert and should not have a problem.

  21. xocynbabyxo says:

Well im getting this for christmas and i asked the poeple at the at&t store and they said everything works fine with the bluetooth so maybe you should contact your local at&t store.
I CANT WAIT TO GET IT(:

  22. iTrio says:

O Yeah I have the Quickfire ( lime Green) woot woot… yeah the fone is great.. i like it. the only thing is that it doesnt bluetooth at all.. one easy solution is that you need to get a micro sd card to put into the phone.. then if one of your freinds have the ringtone/ music / picture etc. and they have a memory card slot. pop it into their phone and copy the file to ur memory card.. it is that simple folks… the phone is awesome 5/5 stars for performance.. im still learning things to do.. the first limitation is bluetoothing and the second limitation is the amount of messages stored on your phone… i think it kan only hold up to 300 messages ( both sent and inbox) so if you are a mad texter like myself i suggest you regularly delete ur messages and find which ones you want to keep.. the new media net server works fine… i love this phone so i suggest u all get it. it will make AT&T very happy =]

  23. ben says:

yeah the bluetooth thing blows along with the no-headphone-jack thing but the phone is great besides that

  24. Crysta says:

Hey! I just ordered this phone and its coming in 2 days, I’m getting the orange one. Is it a good phone if I’m just looking for texting and stuff. I don’t care about bluetooth or music or web, just texting and basic stuff.

  25. MasterDr4v3n says:

Tutorial on how to get ring tones!

You can listen to audio via a blue tooth headset or the speaker built into the phone. The ring tones you send, as I mentioned before need to be 300kb in size, or under. Now the audio quality can be 96kb(there is a difference between file size and audio quality) Once you have the audio file, send yourself a message via email and uploading the file to yourself. When sending you HAVE to have a subject, and a few characters in the email in order for it to send properly. Example… send to 5556664789@mms.att.net DO NOT PUT HYPHENS OR SPACES! that is why the message did not send to you before. This phone is pretty solid and works fine. If you want to know anything else just reply here and I’ll keep checking.

  26. nicole says:

my parents are getting me this phone 4 christmas so i want 2 know if its gud and if its worth getting???

  27. Mz allen says:

I got the phone the day b4 thanksgiving as a gift from my cousine I love the phone I got the orange it is a very cool phone I am just so pissed that I cant bluetooth a phone this cool and expensive should be able to bluetooth the feature is pointless they shouldn’t have said it was bluetooth capability. Other than that I love it and besides it was a gift so I cant complain.. Looks like I got to buy a memory card real soon.

  28. help me says:

hey im thinkin bout gettin this phone cause i really want a phone just like this with a full keyboard and touch screen. So it doesnt have bluetooth? is there a way 2 set it up?

  29. MasterDr4v3n says:

This phone DOES have bluetooth. You can hook a headset to it and even pair it with a computer. However there is no program that will let you put ring tones on it. Though in an earlier post I mentioned on how to put ring tones onto the phone. Anything else? Let me know.

  30. KIMMY says:

  40. torr says:

i just got this phone today, and i really like it. ive figured everything out, exceot how to download music to in can anyone help? thanks

  41. Jordan says:

The touchscreen on the phone is easy to use in my opinion.
However if you don’t seem to like it, you can use the keypad for alot of navigating on it.

when you slide the keypad out to the right side (beside the green call button) there are arrow keys and an enter key right beside the up arrow on the dpad.
and to the left of the spacebar is a ‘back’ key that you can use.

    and master was right.

pretty much the only thing you can do with the bluetooth is set it up to a headset (one of the things you put in your ear and talk to people on, it’s wat makes people look like they’re walking around talking to no one like a freak)

and i love my quickfire =]

    i got the orange one.

But there is one thing i can’t do on it.

i haven a micro SD card.
i put all of my pictures on it.

But i can’t seem to get them on my computer

I got a USB cord for the Quickfire (yes they have them, hit up your att store and ask about it) and i tried everything i could think of to get the pics from my phone to my computer.

Then i tried to use my SD card and the adapter to put my pics on it.

When i put the SD card into my computer, nothing happens at all.

I’d love some help on that =]

  42. ringtonehelp says:

For MasterDr4v3n: I am trying to send a ringtone via email. Your instructions work fine but the phone says this format is not supported. I can send an image just fine but the mp3 file is not being recognized. It is small, under 200 KB. Any ideas? Here is the msg I get: The part audio/mpeg [identifying information for the file] was removed from the message as not supported. Any help would be much appreciated.

  43. amanda says:

is the phone something you would refer as the best phone ever? because i was thinking of getting that phone in lime green. i dont want to waste money on a phone that does not work.

  44. Jordan says:

The phone is not the best phone ever.

I don’t think there really is one phone that can be called the best.

But for At&t the quickfire is surely up there.

if you want a tangible full keypad tho, that limits your search to pantech, the tilt, quickfire, and blackberries. you have a semi wide choice for that.

You can go to the at&t store and talk to one of the workers about the phone that would best suit you, thats what i did and he siad the quickfire or the Tilt is best for me.
But the tilt lags cause it’s one of the smartest smartphones you could say.

  45. Justus says:

I took MasterDr4v3n instructions and sent myself a text from my email with a ringtone. I successfully received it with and it plays when I open my text. The phone gives me the option to save it,but it doens’t show me where it’s saved and I cannot find it. I can go to the audio and it’s not there, I go to the ringtones and it’s not there either. So I successfully transfered a ringtone from pc to phone but now how do I apply it as a ringtone?

  46. Justus says:

I put my sd card in my card reader and into my pc; downloaded music and pictures to the sd card and then put it in my phone. Here’s my problem; the songs show up in my att music folder and will play from there. But when I go “my stuff” ringtones and audio it’s not there and it says there is nothing on my sd card. Please HELP!!!!!! I just switched from a motorola krzr and I could easily transfer audio and pictures from my pc to my phone. Have a made a terrible mistake purchasing this beautiful phone????

  47. Jordan says:

when you put songs on it u can only listen to em in the music player, u can download actual ringtones and set em as ur calling tones but not texting tones.

  48. Darth Ackbar says:

Well, I did get one, but I can’t get any music that I put on it to play. Any suggestions?

  49. Jordan says:

    Hmm.
jus mess around with it a bit and maybe somethin good will happen?
My music works fine, and btw i found out how to put my stuff on my computer ;D

  50. Rick says:

When i play music from the sd card, i get no sound. The music player looks like it is playing the sound, mute is off and volume up but no sound.
