AT&T Announces Dell Aero, Coming Soon

Sure, AT&T may have not started with a great Android-based line-up, but that’s not stopping them from trying. And, by all means, keep trying, AT&T. Their latest effort is of the Dell variety, which we’re assuming is the Dell Mini 3 rebranded, with some slight tweaks to the software. So, don’t be shy. Meet the Dell Aero, AT&T’s first Dell smartphone running the Android mobile Operating System.

AT&T wasn’t prime on releasing a lot of information on the device quite yet. The pre-CTIA press releases went out (they announced a pair of other devices, too) and they hold just enough information to whet our palettes, and that’s about it. We can guess, though. For example, the Aero probably has a 3.5-inch 640×360 touchscreen, a 3MP auto-focus camera with flash, and Bluetooth. It’s got GPS, and we’re hoping that WiFi gets strapped on before the official release of the device. AT&T also confirmed that they worked with Dell directly to skin the Android Operating System, so we should see some new stuff with the software.

When is that, exactly? We wish we knew. Hopefully it’s soon. What’s more likely, and what we should expect, is that in the next few days we’ll get a lot more information about this device from AT&T, as they make their rounds through CTIA. We will stay on top of all the info, so stay with us. Don’t get lost now. You wouldn’t want to miss the important stuff.

I think slowly, we will begin to see most of the carriers carrying all the different brands of phones. This is probably a precursor to the iPhone going from AT&T exclusively to everyone.

Hi, just doing some research for my Mississippi 4g site. Truly more information that you can imagine on the web. Not quite what I was looking for, but nice site. Take care.
