Review of the smallest smartphone on the market!

Camera Functions: 3/5 bars.

Once again, the Audiovox SMT 5600 is probably one of the best on the market in this category, but phone manufacturers can definitely do better! I’ll let the photos speak for themselves in this category.

Bluetooth: 3/5 bars.

Bluetooth functionality seems to be about what one would expect. It took me some time to figure out how to ActiveSync over Bluetooth, but now that it works it seems to work well. You are not able to play media through a Bluetooth headset , at least not through Windows Media Player. The whole Bluetooth interface seemed somewhat unpolished to me, and the user has very little control over Bluetooth devices within the OS.

One notable aspect of Bluetooth functionality in this device is the ability to voice dial through a Bluetooth headset. The MPx220 does not have that capability.

Internet and E-mail: 5/5 bars.

No need to go into detail on this feature, as it is so similar to the review of the MPx220 we have already posted. The phone loads sites quickly, and scrolls very smoothly. Pocket IE is great, and very user friendly. If you can configure Outlook, you can configure this phone’s email client. I like the feature that allows me to sync email with Outlook and send new emails out on the next ActiveSync, so I don’t have to use any data service if I don’t want to.

OVERALL SCORE: 4.5/5.

The Audiovox SMT 5600 offers a great combination of functionality and expandability. It’s a speed demon, and has a wide variety of business and entertainment functions. If you’ve got the cash, get the SMT 5600.
