Tokyo, July 30, 2004—Vodafone K.K. announced it will release a new model of the V301D by Mitsubishi Electric without a mobile camera after early August.

The new camera-less version of the V301D was developed to meet the needs of customers who work in environments such as factories and research laboratories, where camera phones are restricted for confidentiality reasons.

Apart from the removal of camera functions, the handset specifications are identical to those of the previous V301D. Features include a TFT LCD main display that crisply displays images and text, ATOK predictive text software for speedy mail compositions, and Simple Mode where function terms on menus are put into everyday language so beginners can use the handset worry-free.
