GUPP Technologies announced the launch of its Phreedom IP centric smartphone. Designed for consumers and cost-conscious businesses, Phreedom is an open, SIP-based, Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi)/GSM mobile phone.

With Phreedom, users can seamlessly switch to VoIP-based calling when in roaming, avoiding excessive long-distance charges that are accumulated when making incoming, outgoing and voicemail calls. Phreedom puts the power of VoIP in the palm of the user's hand. Phreedom provides added capabilities such as browsing the Internet, downloading music and sending and receiving e-mail. It also features VoIP, Wi-Fi and GSM technologies.
