Is it only in the UK that the word "ming" is common parlance for something unpleasant and/or disgusting? I'm guessing that definition hasn't reached Asia, anyway, where Motorola market the Ming touchscreen smartphone. Already a success with fashionistas and the linguistically-impaired, due to its attractive design and ability to instantly translate words both on-screen and out-loud, Motorola are betting on it being a hit with executives and power-users now that they've packed EDGE high-speed cellular data in there as well.
Available in the first-quarter 2007, the updated Ming will still have the 2-megapixel camera, microSD card slot and Bluetooth of the original, as well as the 2-inch 262k colour touchscreen. Sadly we're unlikely to see it on our own Western shores. Read more about MOTOMING here and here |
