E28 (a company from china) has submited their GSM/WLAN linux phone to FCC for approval.

Using Linux as its OS, the R2821 from E28 has an unique design, a candy bar linux phone with touch screen. Touch screen is rarely seen on a slim candy bar phone. Other than calling through the GSM network, WiFi module is built in to support VoIP calls through its built in VoIP software. In February this year, E28 Limited has successfully demonstrated together with Bridgeport Networks server solution, a dual mode (GSM+WiFi) Linux smart phone performing on-line active call GSM-WiFi hand-off technology on an IMS based environment. The E28 dual mode device successfully performed GSM-WiFi seamless roaming, as well as the active call GSM-WiFi seamless hand-off. R2821 looks like one of the latest product which will utilize their VoIP technology.
