Palm likely to launch Linux-based smartphones?

In early October, linuxdevices.com reported that Palm is planning to release a linux smartphone which is running Wind River Linux. Today digitimes says that this is further confirmed by Paul Blinkhorn, vice president for Asia-Pacific of Palm.

Quoted from Sina China during a launch event of Treo 650

With Palm's recent acquisition of a Linux-based handset software developer in Nanjing, China, Palm is likely to build mobile phones using the Linux OS, said Blinkhorn.
