SavaJe Technologies, the developer of the first open, Java-based mobile OS platform, today announced an expansion of its management team with the additions of two mobile industry veterans from Motorola and Openwave, Samuel Li and Tom Miller. Samuel Li joins SavaJe as its vice president of product marketing with a focus on working with Asia/Pacific handset manufacturers and driving the company's 3G deployments. Most recently, Li was director of Motorola's China- based global smartphone product group, a team that launched the industry's first Linux-based smartphones. Tom Miller joins SavaJe as vice president of business development and is responsible for establishing relationships with key North American handset manufacturers, MVNOs, network operators and content providers. Previously Miller served in a similar role at Openwave as that company's area vice president of client products sales and business development. "As we capitalize on the large market opportunity for our SavaJe Mobile OS Platform, Samuel and Tom bring a detailed knowledge of the global mobile industry and established relationships with mobile operators and handset manufacturers that will be invaluable," said Lamar Potts, senior vice president of worldwide sales and business development for SavaJe. "This also provides further competitive evidence of our momentum and the high level of talent we continue to attract as they both recognized the unique benefits that SavaJe brings to the entire mobile industry, from streamlining the handset development process for manufacturers to delivering the ultimate, customizable mobile user experience for consumers." Li brings more than 18 years of product management, sales, marketing and business development experience to SavaJe. Prior to his most recent role at Motorola, Li led a marketing and business development team for Nokia China's mobile data products and worked directly with the world's largest operators, including China Mobile, China Unicom and others. Earlier in his career he worked in computer telephony product management at Nortel Networks. Miller brings more than 20 years of business development, account management and sales experience to SavaJe. Prior to Openwave, Miller held a variety of management, business development and sales roles with Informix Software. He began his career working in sales for Oracle Corporation. |
