Amp'd Mobile has launched in Canada, bringing with it an impressive collection of original and exclusive content. With the partnership of TELUS and Amp'd Mobile, Inc. ("Amp'd Mobile"), Amp'd Mobile Canada is setting a new bar for mobile entertainment in the Canadian market. Capitalizing the power of TELUS' Wireless High Speed service (EVDO), Amp'd subscribers can easily access traditional services such as voice and text, as well as exclusive music tracks and videos, live entertainment, 3D games and mobile communities all within Amp'd Live, a one of a kind user interface designed specifically for 3G technology. During the purchase process, members select a base voice plan and can add one of three entertainment packages. The top tier Amp'd Platinum package provides unlimited access to 20 Amp'd video on demand channels, Amp'd Streaming TV, Amp'd Radio, unlimited Amp'd Live data and Unlimited text, picture and video messaging. Amp'd Mobile content is accessed through the proprietary and easy to navigate Amp'd Live user interface, which is broken into intuitive programming channels, e.g. MuchMusic fans are able to access all video, ringtones, music, screensavers, etc. through a dedicated MuchMusic channel. With a content strategy focused on three main areas: highly coveted and exclusively licensed content, original programming created specifically for Amp'd and user-generated content such as viral videos, Amp'd Mobile finds countless ways to entertain their target market. Exclusive partnerships with MuchMusic and the NHL Players Association lead a long list of Canadian content providers including the NHL, The Score, MTV Canada and The CBC. Partnerships with Musique Plus, Musimax and 33 Mag begin an ongoing commitment to French and Quebecois content. Combining exclusive agreements with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross, with partnerships from Adult Swim, E!, Comedy Time, Universal Music Canada, Warner Music Canada, Break.com and Fox Sports, Amp'd Mobile has surely differentiated itself from the traditional offerings of other mobile carriers. Amp'd Canada is dedicated to delivering the best music from major labels and cutting edge indie artists. Until September, customers can download music tracks for $0.99 each, which proves to be another key differentiation. Most notable about the launch of Amp'd Mobile in Canada is the opportunity it creates to showcase Canadian talent. With fully integrated sound, video, lighting and staging environment for broadcast ready live performance productions, Amp'd Mobile is the only mobile carrier with an extensive in-house development studio. Located in Toronto's entertainment district, the Canadian Amp'd headquarters houses their first ever retail To celebrate the opening of its Toronto studios, Amp'd Mobile has planned two weeks of Amp'd Studio Sessions. Kicking off the celebration is EMI-artists Pride Tiger, performing today in the company's studio at 3pm. Other acts scheduled to appear include Stars of Track and Field, Kardinal Offishall, Roz Bell, The Klaxons and Die Mannequin. |
